For our final performance this season, MPLS (imPulse) is proud to partner with Beer Choir Twin Cities for a first-of-its-kind event. Audiences: Get ready to sing!
This event's music comes from an unlikely source—British soldiers in the Second World War. Music has played an important role in military cultures for centuries. Soldiers have often appropriated their own words to military music, commercial music, hymns, and children’s songs to add amusement and pass the time. Thanks to Roy Palmer and Sod’s Opera, who collected or performed songs passed largely by oral tradition, MPLS (imPulse) and Beer Choir will lead songs that largely defined sentiment among allied soldiers during a perilous moment in history.

Beer Choir is the choir that sings while drinking beer!
Founded in 2015, Beer Choir is a national singing movement with chapters across the country. The Twin Cities Chapter is among the most active, serving hundreds of people who attend events to drink beer and sing through the Beer Choir Hymnal, a collection of well known tunes replaced with beer-themed lyrics.
